ABOUT
Design Statement
Stemming from a fascination with the mysterious journey a single vintage garment takes before it ever meets my eyes, I have grown to infuse a deep love of vintage design into my work. Combining vintage designs with modern twists, I create garments that play with the past and present of fashion. I utilize recognizable motifs that resonate over generations while disrupting expectations through the use of color, texture, opacity, and secondhand materials. My designs are for the individual who appreciates contemporary fashions fused with the unique elements of many twentieth-century styles.

Emily Betz was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and raised in the Detroit Metropolitan area. The Penny Seats, The Burns Park Players, and One Off Productions are a few of the theatre companies Emily worked with while attending Schoolcraft Community College. Her work has been reviewed in publications such as Encore Michigan, and she soon became a sought-after designer.
